The Semi-Annual Clarkdale Gem and Mineral Show and Sale Mingus Gem & Mineral Club, will be held at the Clark Memorial Clubhouse Auditorium, 19 N. Over all, Watson Lake is not just a body of water, but a 13 min getaway from Prescott that the whole family can enjoy! The most popular trail however, is the Pea-vine trail. These are known for winding through beautiful flowers and bringing hikers up close to local fauna. When repairing a directional post, he decided to add a sign for his hometown of Danville, IL, and inadvertently started the huge collection of signs. It was started in 1942 by Carl Lindley, a homesick GI, while working on the Alaska Highway. The Sign Post Forest is Watson Lake’s most famous attraction. It became the accommodation and supply center for the building of this section of the highway.
Watson Lake grew from a small isolated outpost to a thriving community when the Alaska Highway was routed through its center.
